Elliot had a problem. He was too polite.

That morning, his roommate invited him to a 5 a.m. “fun run.” His coworker asked if he could “volunteer” to cover the entire weekend shift. A stranger on the sidewalk tried to hand him a flyer, a smoothie sample, and a petition—simultaneously.

Elliot’s mouth said, “Sure, maybe,” but his soul whispered, “Absolutely not.”

At work, his boss approached with a terrifying stack of folders. “Any chance you could—oh. New hat.” The boss stared at the message, looked down at the folders, sighed, and handed them to someone else. “Never mind, forget I asked.”

On the sidewalk, the flyer–smoothie–petition guy aimed for Elliot, saw the cap, and performed a smooth mid-stride U‑turn.

By evening, Elliot’s calendar was miraculously empty. No awkward excuses, no overexplaining, no guilt. The cap had negotiated everything for him.

Elliot put his feet up, relaxed, and tipped the brim in gratitude.

Product measurements

Measure your head circumference with a non-stretchable measuring tape. Place the end of your  tape on your forehead and wrap the rest around the back of your head, keeping it 1″ (2.5 cm) above your ears. Pinch the spot where the tape meets the other end, lift the loop over your head, and note the measurement. Be as careful as possible to get the most precise measurement.
